It's hard to get out of bed on a normal day. It's damn near impossible when it's THIS FREEZING COLD. Brr.

According to a new survey from The Independent, we'll spend an extra 24 HOURS in bed in the winter. Yes, that's right: One whole entire day out of the year will go toward you hiding under the blanket. That's based on spending an extra 16 minutes a day in bed for 90 days. Which yeah, sounds about right, if not a tad low.

The survey also found that the average person is late to work seven times during the winter and one in five have taken a sick day at some point rather than go outside into the cold.

Speaking of cold, CBS2 meteorologist Rebecca Kopelman is calling for record lows this week for Waterloo:

Record low temperature on Wednesday (1/30) is -24, 1951. Current forecast is -29). Record low temperature on Thursday (1/31) is -27, 1918. Current forecast is -33.

So yeah, those blankets sound pretty sweet about now.
